FamJams
We start 'em young in New Orleans! Our FamJams are designed to engage both wee music lovers and their parents in vocal and instrumental music and movement. Ages 18-42 months and their caretakers explore rhythms and repertoire selected from the soundscape of New Orleans and South Louisiana as well as world music and time is allowed for exploration and Q&A in addition to group music and movement facilitated by a certified musician-educator.
WeeJam Playgroup,
& Mighty Music Makers
Musicollaborative's drop-off classes begin at 3 years old with the WeeJam Playgroup and progress through Mighty Music Makers for ages 4-6, through which young music learners can further develop their musical superpowers. These classes offer exploration and guided practice with vocal music, hand percussion, xylophones, keyboards, pre-music literacy skills and more in an engaging, play-based context.
Music FUNdamentals
Musicollaborative's Music FUNdamentals I for ages 7-9 includes vocal and instrumental music and basic music theory with time for independent practice and ensemble music making including hand and mallet percussion, keyboard, drum set, and more. Level II for ages 9-15 dives deeper into music theory and improvisation skills with more advanced musicians who enjoy ensemble music making and want to explore creating their own music alone and with others.

Roots&Wings Rhythm Band for 'Tweens & Teens
This performance course provides an avenue for young musicians to explore the blues and beyond, developing ensemble performance skills through opportunities to perform with professional musicians at local venues. Participants are encouraged to play their main instrument (or voice) and are invited to learn grooves at the drum set, basslines on the bass, simple accompaniments on the keyboard, singing and moving to the music.
